Since 2002, the Diocese of Norwich, the Connecticut Catholic Conference, and the Connecticut Department of Correction have sponsored "Gift of Grace", a training program for prison ministry volunteers. Even before our formal incorporation, MPVCT is proud to have assisted with "Gift of Grace", providing logistical and financial support to the training sessions and to each class' "graduation program", a retreat at Mystic's Enders Island.

The program's faculty is comprised of Department of Correction employees and volunteers, who provide a broad range of information on topics including addition and recovery, racial and cultural diversity, spirituality, women and prison, abuse and anger, and more. Also included are the "dos and don'ts" necessary to know and follow to make a safe and successful volunteer experience.
